Two neighboring homesteaders animals in a small scale gardening setting, driving biodynamics and permaculture to an ecstatic union.... All is small scale but with a big open heart and an enthusiasm for beauty and new solutions. And since we are expanding greatly, we have a lot of building going on. During the first two WWOOFing summers, we have built a pond and a strawbale cabin plus raised beds and a chicken stable, with many helping hands. Last years`WWOOFers have so far contributed with an amazing panoramic lakeview outdoor toilet and the first of the greenhouses; now the focus is on the garden and other building projects. - You are welcome to participate in our courses, a.o. natural beekeeping.
- What we need:
Mai-July: Help to set up a greenhouse and a house for the bees; all wood beehives in special forms for natural beekeeping (Sunhive, top bar hive etc) ; hopefully also a seminar house, all wood log cabin type with many details of ecological building (for inspiration see baubiologie.de etc).
The first two weeks of august we are hosting an international event "Spiritual ecology - nature observation" (summerweek.baldron.org). This means that we will interrupt our normal garden activity 15 days. However, if somebody feels specifically drawn to this subject, then you are welcome to help in the weeks before: preparing, promoting via facebook etc, and assisting during the event.
By the end of august, we are back to normal: harvesting, building a (permaculture and beekeeping) visitors house and greenhouse, treecare and wood gardening.
- What we offer: an enthusiastic young international community (Norwegian, German, Italian with friends from UK a.o.), hard work in the day, laid back in the evenings with grilling and possibility to learn from our special expertise with spiritual bee-keeping (beedynamic.no), detox and natural health (klinghardt.no), research on light (nordic-light-association.org), building biology (byggbiologi.org), spiritual matters and meditation, ecological-political activism (baldron.org) - plus international projects within ecological farming (freearth.org).
Be aware that this is not a real farm. No big scale farmland with grains and the like. In a way we are training for bigger projects to come (ecovillage spiritual farming community) - and in the meantime we are working as intensely as possible with the little exquisite gem of a garden-forest-lake-landscape.
In the picture gallery you see the first WWOOFer team digging a garden pond and celebrating their accomplishment (and besides Raphael sweating to build the foundations for the guest cabins back in 2013, and one of our bees in her daily work)
We welcome mostly long term WWOOFers with interest and abilities within gardening and / or building / engineering. Yet often, especially during the "summer work camp / festival" in June, July and August we also appreciate short term help.
